Whilst you might want to run through the implications with an Employment lawyer, for most roles we find that 2 months can be very beneficial:
▪️ 1 month is a bit on the shorter side when looking to backfill the role.
▪️ 2 months is usually long enough to enable you to get a recruitment process underway and someone else in already.
▪️ 3 months notice can mean the days can drag on and the employee can become less motivated and engaged in the role if not kept busy. If the role is hard to backfill you might want to opt for 3 months as the benefits could outweigh the risks.
If you are looking to speak with an Employment Lawyer see our earlier post.
