Do I need to sign an NDA & is it normal?

February 18, 2026

NDAs (Non-Disclosure Agreements) are increasingly standard in recruitment, particularly for senior or sensitive hires.

They protect both the Employer and Candidate by ensuring confidentiality throughout the process.

You may be asked to sign an NDA when:

▪️ The business is in stealth mode, restructuring or undergoing M&A
Commercially sensitive information needs safeguarding.

▪️ Financial or strategic data will be shared
This may include forecasts, investor materials, or organisational changes not yet public.

▪️ The role is high-impact or competitive
For example, a senior hire developing new markets, clients or propositions.

▪️ Stakeholders require discretion
Boards or investors may only want roles shared with vetted individuals.

NDAs are a normal part of professional hiring, particularly at Executive level or for Confidential hires. Signing one is a sign of trust, transparency & a more open exchange of information.

If you are undergoing a restructuring or are looking to hire confidentially, please do Get in Touch.
