🔺Do your Research. Look at practice questions related to the role you are interviewing for, the job description, your notes from the recruiter you are working with and your research the company and those you are meeting with. Read through recent news stories regarding the company, as well as deals and projects they have been involved in and what clients they work with if applicable. Check out their website, blogs and social media pages too.
🔺Go through your CV and be sure you are clear on your achievements in each role and look for fit with the role and company that you are interviewing for.
🔺Prepare some questions you could ask at the end. You could note these down and have them offscreen to remind you at the end. It’s no different from brining a notepad to an interview.
🔺Ensure you have a considered what location could work for the interview. Make sure you will be audible and have good internet. Try and pick a quiet room and be mindful of the background. It might be best to use a fake background to hide any distractions.
🔺Test your microphone and camera ahead of time. Ensure it works and isn’t fuzzy or there is a delay.
🔺Bring a note pad. This is so you can write down any details you want through the call, in the same way you might for an in person interview.
🔺Dress for success. Ensure you are presentable, tidy. Wear a suit and jacket as applicable
🔺Join the call early so you can ensure there are no tech issues. If there are, let the recruiter know immediately. Likewise if the interviewer leaves you waiting let the recruiter know so the interviewer can be found and nudged on to the call.
