What should we consider when considering an Executive Compensation Package?

When hiring for a C-suite role, its essential to offer an attractive and competitive executive compensation package to secure the best candidate for the role. To design a competitive offer, it’s best practice to consider industry standards and factors like company size, location, responsibilities, and candidate experience.

We would suggest having a strong basic salary, performance bonuses, equity, carry or stock options, and long-term incentives. Benefits should meet executive needs, and consider the location of the role. For example for an expat package you might want to consider schooling allowances, return flights for the family, relocation allowances, housing allowances, travel allowances and furniture allowances. Usual benefit plans include health insurance, enhanced pension plans, and professional development opportunities. Additional perks, like flexible work arrangements, and increased annual leave allowances can further enhance a package.
