It’s best to work with a headhunter that has a deep understanding of your role, your industry and the search they are undertaking. To better understand their experience and the opportunity we would recommend you ask them the following questions:
- What is your recruiting focus / niche?
- Is there a specific position you’re calling me about or are you just looking for someone of my qualifications?
- How many candidates have you placed for this company?
- What’s your relationship with the hiring manager?
- How long has the position been open, and is it a new role or a replacement?
- Do you typically offer advice or feedback before and after the interview?
- What should I know about the position and company that’s not in the job description?
- What’s the culture of the hiring company and the growth opportunities in the role?
- When do they want someone to start?
- What will the process look like and what are the timelines involved?
