I have never worked with a Headhunter before. As a candidate what should I be asking the Headhunter?

It’s best to work with a headhunter that has a deep understanding of your role, your industry and the search they are undertaking. To better understand their experience and the opportunity we would recommend you ask them the following questions:

  • What is your recruiting focus / niche?
  • Is there a specific position you’re calling me about or are you just looking for someone of my qualifications?
  • How many candidates have you placed for this company?
  • What’s your relationship with the hiring manager?
  • How long has the position been open, and is it a new role or a replacement?
  • Do you typically offer advice or feedback before and after the interview?
  • What should I know about the position and company that’s not in the job description?
  • What’s the culture of the hiring company and the growth opportunities in the role?
  • When do they want someone to start?
  • What will the process look like and what are the timelines involved?

If you are looking to work with a Search Firm, please do get in touch to discuss further.
