I have had the same job for 15 years and I am feeling rusty on interviewing. How do you suggest I prepare for a Real Estate interview?

Here are some tips:

  • Firstly ensure you have plenty of time to prepare. Clear your evening or weekend plans to allow yourself time to get confident.
  • Go through your CV, experiences projects, deals and portfolio, the job description.
  • Consider how you fit the role requirements and what you can offer and know your projects and deals back to front so you are able to talk them through with ease including what you did and didn’t know
  • Research the company, look at what they are currently working on, recent hires, recent news articles. If you know anyone at the company or has recently worked there reach out and ask for inside intel. Reach out to a few people if you can. Research the people you are meeting with, what they do, what projects they are currently working on, their career history by checking Linkedin, and any news articles on them. Check out their socials, youtube videos and their website.
  • Ask your recruiter for further information on them, what they know and what to expect from the interview process, the personalities of who you will be meeting and likely interview questions
  • Ensure you are prepared for technical or competency questions should they come up.
  • Be prepared to answer questions regarding current market trends, topics or industry wide issues, as well as your management experience and style.
  • Practice questions until you are confident and providing stellar responses. • Plan out your outfit ready & your journey to ensure you get there promptly
  • Pack a brolly incase of a pour down and some gum to freshen up beforehand
  • Ensure you get to bed early and have a good night’s rest so you feel your best
  • Bring a notepad to write the questions you want to ask at the end and take notes
  • Remember to smile and make eye contact with your interviewers
