- Check your contract to see your notice period, how the contract can be terminated and ensure you will not be caught by any Restrictive Covenants
- Resign Face to Face and provide follow up with a resignation letter or email
- Thank your manager for the experiences and support you have had to date
- If your manager requires you to leave the premises immediately or go on garden leave, be prepared
- Rehearse so you are confident in what you will say
- Consider if you will tell your manager what company you will be moving too
- Be prepared they might respond with a counter offer
- Keep your resignation confidential as your manager will likely want to break the news to the team themselves
- Follow up with HR regarding your last day and any exit interviews or processes to ensure these are completed
- Prepare thorough handover notes and leave on a positive note
