💠 NED’s are external to the business and are brought in to provide objective advice. They are paid for their expertise and salaries vary depending on the business and are higher for serving on committees. It can be a challenging but rewarding role to take on.
💠However realistically it can take a while to secure such a role. It is a small market, role turnover is slow and there is a lot of competition.
💠 It might be advisable to undergo further training and development. You need to consider what skills you can provide and your expertise needs to be clear on governance and regulatory rules. As such it might be advisable to brush up on the Companies Act, and Data Protection. There are specific courses for NED’s it would be worth considering:
